Meet the Chef

Nick LaRosas Sicilian background meant that when he was growing up the kitchen was the center of the house. The wonderful food his family would lovingly craft was an influence on his life as early as he can recall. A Johnson & Wales culinary graduate, Nicks first big break came when he worked for former Reebok CEO Paul Fireman at a private country club in Cape Cod. There he was able to experiment with some of the best ingredients in the world, flown in as fresh as possible for the clubs high end clientele. Nick then made the move across country and landed in Phoenix, AZ where he has spent his last 20 years. He has worked alongside James Beard nominated chefs, has been hands on in the opening of many restaurants across the country, and partnered in multiple Phoenix area locations. Chef LaRosa's  culinary expertise and endeavors also brought him to the famed Food Network cooking show Chopped on two occasions. One of those visits saw chef take home the grand prize of $10,000.00. Chef LaRosa has brought his wife and two sons back to his hometown Southington, CT where he hopes you enjoy your visit here at NOTO Americano, where his creations are modern in approach but Sicilian in spirit.
